Dateisystem verschlüsseln unter Windows

Brachte Windows nicht früher mal eine Möglichkleit mit das Dateisystem mit Bordmitteln zu verschlüsseln? Unter Windows 7 Home und Windows 7 Starter kann ich da nichts finden.

Das gibt's immer noch, ist aber den größeren Editionen vorbehalten, siehe Wikipedia.

Hmpf. Danke. Gerade auf dem Netbook mit Windows 7 Starter wäre es sinnvoll gewesen.

Bei einem neueren UEFI gibt es vll die Möglichkeit für ein SATA-Passwort, das wäre dann vermutlich auch relativ sicher. Es könnte aber sein, dass du Windows neu installieren musst.

Encryption of UEFI/GPT system or boot partitions is NOT supported (disable UEFI and use MBR instead of GPT).
When encrypting system or boot partitions, you must NOT use any national symbols in the password. If your keyboard has QWERTZ or AZERTY layout, then you can use symbols only from the following sets: [A–Z][a–z][0–9].
The main encrypted system partition cannot be converted into a dynamic one. After the conversion, the system will not boot.
