Zeos License

Hi.

Irgendwie ist mir die License Vereinbarung von Zeos etwas unklar.
Vielleicht kann mir ja jemand auf die sprünge helfen ? :bounce1: :wink:

Soweit ich mitbekommen hab steht Zeos seit version 6.x als GNU License zur verfügung.
Die Version 5.5 ist eine LGPL License, wenn ich das richtig sehe.

Nun zur frage :

die ZEOS-Komponenten sind Freeware.
Du darfst damit alles machen.
Also darfst Du auch ein Programm kommerzeill vertreiben, das die ZEOS enthält.

Auch wenn ich eine Zeos Version (1.6) nehme die unter GNU License fällt ?

nein, natürlich hat er nicht recht. Nur weil etwas als "Freeware" deklariert ist, darf man damit nicht "alles" machen, angefangen vom Urheberrecht das auch bei Freeware greift (zumindest in Deutschland ohne weiter Hinweise), kommt noch dazu, dass der Urheber die Möglichkeit hat eine Lizenz zu wählen unter der er seine Arbeit veröffentlicht.

Die Zeos stehen unter der GNU - allerdings mit einer Einschränkung (zu finden in der Copying.zeos Datei):

Ja, die 'special exception' in der Lizenz würde ich so interpretieren.
Für die Installation der MySQL DLL gilt jedoch, dass deren Lizenz beachtet werden muss.
