arbeite mit delphi 5 professional und bin draufgekommen dass hier die ADO Komponenten noch nicht dabei sind ..... kann ich mir die irgendwo downloaden?????

ich denke nicht, denn in der Enterprise Version sind die Komponenten dabei, und da wird Borland die nicht zum Download anbieten, damit man an der Anschaffung der Enterprise Version vorbeikommt.

kann ich außer mit diesen ado komponenten noch auf anderem weg auf eine access datenbank steuern?

Die ADO-Komponenten kapseln "nur" die in Windoes eingebauten Fähigkeiten, und die kann mann auch direkt programmieren, wenn man sich mit COM etwas auskennt, wird dann aber alles etwas umständlicher und komplizierter.

Auch über die BDE müßte es gehen, hab ich aber keine guten Erfahrungen mit.
ODBC könnte noch ein Stichwort wein, und ob es noch andere Komponenten gibt, die den Zugriff ermöglichen, weiß ich jetzt nicht, vielleicht mal googeln?
