  They all are customizable !, talking about boot mangers, they all can have menus and run scripts, so all you have to do is make two scripts to create/clone and restore or boot from .
  
  On all my devices i use/used EasyBCD to adjust the boot and replace the UEFI default one, now i use GRUB which is also customizable, and have very nice feature witch is boot from an ISO image on local disk !

  There is many tools to convert Disks to V-Disks in every format, also there is tools to convert between such formats, just search for the format itself.
  
  As example i use this from Microsoft to handle Hyper-V disks

  I missed the case of trigger-happy Enter-hit-finger, so either make sure the boot is the default and clone need down arrow key, or add an empty entry with do-nothing, to make sure a user is not clicking enter by habit the losing the clone in the process because the monitor is flashing black.
